I had to look up The Charlatan because I have never come across it before. It has now gone to the top of my 'must have' list but I will probably never find it down here. All your photos are gorgeous. Lola.

Beth, I always love the picture of your Enchanted Evening.

The unusual colors in Memphis Music and Fairest Cape are striking. Over all a lovely parade!

Beth, beautiful roses! Does Samaritan always have that type of center? It looks unusual for a rose. Very pretty and interesting at the same time.

Charlatan also piqued my interest. Love those pink stamens! Reminds me of Dainty Bess. I actually got to see a real Dainty Bess close up and personal the other weekend. Flowers were a little smaller than I thought they would be (but knew they would not be big). Really pretty! Nice to see the real thing instead of just a picture. I am going to have to remember Charlatan in the future.

Ah, Dainty Bess! I knew there was a rose that Charlatan resembled. The pink stamens are very appealing.

Thanks guys!
Yes Mustbnuts, SAMARITAN does that green center pretty much most of the time as it finishes out. It's a very interesting rose.

Desert Dawn is so intriguing. I've never seen it anyplace before.

It always makes me smile to see that you've started a new thread of your beauties. It also makes me get ready to add some names to the database. Although our database now includes 7,000 roses, at least half of the ones in your threads have to be added. You certainly have an outstanding collection of rare and elusive roses. Smiling

Zuzu, DESERT DAWN was a rose from Certified Roses in Tyler, TX. I had it yrs ago when it first came out, and it died. Managed to find this replacement about 8-9yrs ago at Lowes. I haven't seen it again since. Almost lost this one last yr, but it's making a great recovery. Need to get it in the ground!!

Anthony, my MEMORIAL DAY usually has thrips damage. This is an unusual bloom! LOL

I've never had any thrips damage on my Memorial Day. It's one of the best roses I have...has about 30 big huge roses on it at a time...and they last a long time here.
