Summer Sun looks amazing! I can't wait to see her bloom! I had just picked her out for her clean foliage as I got her at the end of the season. I had no idea what she looked like till just now. Your comment reminded me I needed to look her up, she's lovely I can't wait!

Star of the Republic is one I've admired to, though I don't think the Star would like my wet conditions. Love peachy apricot roses!

Zuzu, Arctic Blue has Ebb Tide and Blue Foe You in its parentage.
I love mt Blue for you that I am planting a whole bed around it.
Today I ordered 3 Desdamona and a Marys Rose standard.
Still deciding on a white standard.
You can't plant your new favorite rose if you are still watering your least favorite

The post office and FedEx apparently have sped up deliveries already to avoid the Christmas crush. Today I received the four roses from Antique Rose Emporium that were supposed to have arrived tomorrow. I also received an Amazon (non-rose) purchase that was supposed to have been delivered on Thursday. Another Amazon package that was supposed to have arrived today was delivered yesterday (on Sunday!).

Amazon regularly does Sunday deliveries now. I've received quite a few Sunday deliveries from them.

I have also received other Sunday deliveries, but not when they're scheduled to arrive on Monday.

I have ordered nothing and have not even checked though I think of checking what is out there ---- often.

Some thing has put me into a funk the past few days, no real reason, even though in reality everything is better than a year ago.
I am writing this partly as some times during the day I get a happy urge to write some thing here but when time comes I can, I look at the computer and then get one of those ---- what the hell for, bummer feelings.
So I wrote this .

RpR - if you get that feeling a lot...you may want to get an anti-depressant. That's what I did (well turns out I have OCD so I have an OCD medication) and it has helped sooooo much!! Big Grin

RpR,
We're here for you.
A family of raccoons has taken over my shed.
They shifted my mind set. What a mess.
Which roses from last year's orders are your favorites?

Careful Tisha, racoons can carry rabies. Had one with it in my backyard growing up.

My "rosie" purchase for now and spring (and possibly the rest of my life or at least for the next several years) is a.....new car!!! (said in my best game show announcer voice). Subaru Forester in blue. It has so many gadgets on it that I have spent several days reading the owner's manual as my other 15 year old car didn't have this stuff on it. Do really like the car, however.

Mustbnuts - yes, that will give you years of driving pleasure. And I loved your game show announcer voice!! Hilarious!

My best rose purchase last year was White Lightning. What a fabulous rose!! Sooo many blooms...it never stopped. And it is very fragrant!

Carol - I got White Lightning' last year from Hortico and it's done really well. The fragrance is very strong and the blooms are long lasting. I just cut the last one the other day.

I guess I'd better move the photo. I imported it to the White Lightnin' entry.

@Mustbnuts rabies is the least of the coon problem.
Their filth is a bio hazard. The excrement carries diseases. So much so that professionals are required to clean up the site.
I lost my garden shed and everything in it.
I think we bought the very same car. Only the year is different, `14, right?
It`s so nice outside here today I`m going out. Want to see where I can plant a few plts. I haven`t read up on yet.
Tonight will be research, HMF and placing an order or two.
Not getting any HTs, Flor, or Grands this time. Just seem more interested in expanding the older varieties.
There are roses in my maternal family graveyard. Mom and her older brother used to help grandpa dig graves!
I`m going to ask if I can get some, even though I don`t know how to properly remove them yet.
I`m sure I can find someone to tell me how to get `em without hurting the main plt.
Want to get permission first.

The racoons sound awful. Sorry you have to go through this and lose your shed in the process.

My Forester is a 2019. Wanted all the new safety features on it especially since I keep my cars for an average of 15 years before I replace them.

HI guys, I'm sitting here trying to get inspiration.. I haven't made any orders yet as I have no room unless I get creative. we will be building a pool in the next few years and then I will have more beds to work with. I went to order a replacement for acropolis but I cant find it. mine is still alive but it really languished last summer. I know the root stock died and it was surviving on its own roots somewhat. it did not like being moved twice in 4 years. I cut off some to try to root . Its still alive out there but its only one small cane.. a shadow of its former self and I don't have much hope of it surviving the winter. last winters false spring really did a number on some of my roses too. I've had to make little chicken wire cages around each to keep the rabbits out and I've barricaded just about any hole they can get through. I'm hoping to deter them. I really want a super vigorous rose that will get huge and laugh in the face of houttuynia. I have a patch that seems well behaved. its the variegated kind. its far away from everything and has hydrangea and crape myrtles in it and they seem to thrive there. there are places in that houttuynia that need something tall.
