Plumeria forum: can same variety's have different amount of petals?

Again I think others can benifit from this question. I have lost a tag off one of my plumeria it has 1st bloom! I picked the bloom and smelled and said in my mind Aztec Gold. Then i picked one off one cutting that was marked Aztec Gold. smelled very close unknown is stronger but smells the same. Then i just looked back and forth about 5 times somethings different OMG unknown has 6 prtals and the known Aztec Gold has 5

SO can these both be Aztec Gold? All of my cuttings where sold to me as "named" variety's

Yes, this is a fairly common occurrence. I recently had seven petals on a plumeria which is pretty rare....

I knew that it looked about the same and smelled the same but you know my brains are like scrambled eggs and had to put on my glasses i could not believe what i was seeing.

you know out of ALL the cuttings i got 14 i lost the tags off of so i have some mystery cuttings cant wait till i see what the others are!!!LOL kinda makes it hard to sell them knowing i have some nice named cuttings but SORRY i cant tell you what it is Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
