My brother sent me pictures of this tree/bush, asking what it is. I have no clue, but I figure one of you probably does. Smiling He said it bloomed, but didn't have a noticeable smell (at least he didn't notice it.)

I don't know anything about trees but I wonder if it could be a Birch of some sort?

JRsbugs/Janet is awesome at identifying plants and trees ... hopefully she will be along and see this and be able to identify it for you.

When someone sticks a label on me I'm doomed to fail! Hilarious!

There's a lot of trees. This sticks in my mind as a type of Elder, could be way out though.

The leaves remind me so much of Elderberry, the growth habit does too.

Well, he sent another couple of photos today and said that neither Elder nor deutzia looks right. It's blooming now, so that should help.

The branches, bark and blooms look like a Philadelphus to me; possibly 'Minnesota Snowflake'.

Look up heptacodium. Looks just like mine.

The habit looks similar to Heptacodium miconioides, nothing else matches.. which one do you mean Cindi? Have you checked out Deutzia scabra, which matches well?

This shrub is definitely a Deutzia scabra.
