I know there has to be something in me that is not thinking clearly because I have decided to try to raise and hopefully propagate African Violets again. My friend has agreed to help me learn her"magic". She has a collection to die for. I am not going to go all out at first, just a few plants here and there. I am of course now 90 years old and am a bit limited. I am not going to keep them in the greenhouse because these are just for me to love and enjoy. Wish me luck.
Here are my first two blooming plants:
Icy Sunset

This one is a noid but oh so beautiful.

Good luck with them, JB. I had 2 of them from my mom. I managed to keep them going for almost 4 years. Then I let mealy bugs get way too entrenched and despite all of my efforts I couldn't save them.

They all died as expected. I would close this thread if I knew how.

You mentioned raising them in a greenhouse, why not close at hand in your warm house by a bright window? I'm just suggesting to offer you hope since thousands grow them in just that environment with great success. Maybe one more just to try since your others were so pretty. Merry Christmas & May God's Blessings over take you in 2020 Lovey dubby Trudy
