With all the lovely sunshine we have been getting for the past few weeks, some of my semps are looking really pretty. And some are just hanging around, waiting for winter.

Thanks Julia. That Twilight Blues is one of my favorites. Funny thing is I have two pots of it and they look totally different even though they are from the same parent plant. The other one does not have nearly as much color but it has been more in the shade than this one.

I have that issue with my Frost and Flame. I've had them growing together now but still some are more purple. Darn plants, keeps it interesting.

Some of yous look large, like Bronco and Pumaros. They look so good in all the wonderful sunshine.

Your Round Midnight looks huge! Mine barely surpasses the size of a half dollar...remember those? Nice to still have all those colors. I have to bend down close and look a while before finding color in the flats of semps.

I agree, Twlight Blues is a real stunner. I have similar issues of same semps different amounts of color, even growing side by side with same light etc.. Closest I can figure to explain is slight differences in my soil makeup or possibly the material the containers are made of, aluminum vs. plastic.

I think Bronco, Fashion Diva and Viking are real standouts in my book.

They are all gorgeous Melissa. Well grown and happy semps. Love the eye lashes on 'Hordubal'. Lots of interesting colors going on, 'Gold Nugget' is glowing with it's lovely yellow green coloring.

It is amazing how the same semp can present with different coloring, with minor changes in light, soil, water and positioning within the colony.
I find @ricos (Jo Ann) thoughts on propagating only the clones that most represent the cultivar interesting and worthwhile.

Catching up on this topic too, Melissa, what an impressive series of beautiful cultivars, hard to pick favorites but I'll go out on a limb and select Twilight Blues, Fashion Diva, and Borscht. We're still in October, I'll post some of my semp October color.

Wow. Angelo your 'Averil' has awesome color. Very nice indeed.

Taken today:

I love this one, it has such nice waxy shine to it. And I see it is getting watermarks.

Sorry Mark, I some how missed the photos you posted earlier today. They definitely are not deficient. Lots of beautiful fall colors and all are so well grown. Love your Pacific grouping.

Man... October color is hard for me to find lately.

'Killer' is a standout for sure, and 'El Toro' is not too shabby either.

Enormous 'Gold Nugget' produced by knowledgeable nursery people at the Little Prince of Oregon. There's no way I could make this thing grow so large by myself.

Tim, that Gold Nugget is wonderful. I wish I had taken the time to visit that nursery and get one for myself.
