This is a newly registered Brugmansia and I got a cutting growing from my friend that started it. Really looking forward to having it in the garden next summer.

It is a beauty. Cannot wait to see it bloom in our garden next summer. Just need to keep all my new cultivars happy and growing until next spring.

How do you keep your Brugs during the winter, Rick?
I have mine cut back and in the greenhouse, but I fight the insects all winter.
Congrats on the new Brug badge!

I keep most in a insulted in basement at about 50F-52F. They go dormant. The ones in the house (cuttings and seedlings) are under lights and in a room about 60F. The bugs are driving me nuts. I hate it when I get them. Been spraying them, but difficult to do in the house.
Thanks about the Badge (Brugmansia). Hoping it shows up on this post. I deleted on in hope that it will.

I don't know if you saw my other message, Rick. You go in to manage your acorns and you drag and drop them to change the order. Put the brug badge in the first 12 acorns. That is all that will appear on your posts.

My brugs have been my worst bug magnet plants. I'm really getting sick of it. You're right, it's very hard to spray well in the greenhouse or in the house. I'm almost ready to start using a systemic on them. I've avoided doing that because I have earthworms in my greenhouse beds and all of my pots. I didn't put them in the pots but they meander around and manage to get in all of them.

Karen,
Outside I do not seam to have many issues w bugs on my Brugs. I do get bugs on my Adeniums when outside occasionally and they are in a greenhouse structure that the sides roll up on. What I have do in the past in the greenhouse is get the Predatory Mites for Spider Mites and it definitely clears them up. No good using outside in the open garden.
The one I here people getting for the Brugs is Forbid.
They do not sell Systemic Pesticides here in Canada or not over the counter to the public. Always been a bit concerned with it's use and what it can effect.
I like it when the Brug's go dormant, as there are not bugs with all the foliage shedding off. This is the way I will store all of mine next winter. Just need to struggle through this winter as best possible.
