That is a such a special story. Shelties are loyal dogs, I bet he just needed to know his old owner was not there, out of loyalty and the protective nature dogs have toward their owners. Once he knew that, he was free to be a happy and much loved dog.
I would love to see a pic of Perry. The loss of an animal is much harder on us than we like to talk about. And two years is not a very long time.
I hope for the sake of animals in need you have decided to give another abandoned animal the kind of life Perry had.
