I don't know if it's Aloe Vera (Aloe vera) or not but all Aloes (Aloe) probably require the same general care; well draining soil and bright light. The reddish coloring on the tips may be due to possibly being closer to lights?

Hopefully someone more familiar with Aloe will be along soon with advice.
