Fighting weeds in flower beds is a constant battle. Even if you have a weed free lawn, chances are that your neighbor's don't. The wind is bound to blow seeds your way. That's why I prefer to use mulch (especially the kind that's free--chopped leaves, glass clippings, etc.). It makes the job so much easier.
