I inherited 2 plants from a loved friend's collection. I have no idea what kind the orchid is or how to care for it. And I don't even know what kind of plant the bonsai is... that's just what it was called when delivered to me!
The ceramic pot that the orchid is in [which probably is what it was bought in, tho no guarantee that's true] says "3 inch everyday orchid". It has strange worm-like things coming from the base. They almost look like gray plastic/fake.... but there are some withered ones under them, so I think actually part of the plant. Each has a green end.
The "bonsai" is in a clay pot. One of the "roots" coming off the large base then into the soil, looks to me like it might be rotting. And the water tray has some strange caked yellow substance. Not sure what that is.
These plants may not have had adequate care for the last couple of weeks or longer, so I feel it is important for me to get started with remedy care right now.
Can anyone help in identifying either or both.... and giving any tips on how to care for.?? These belonged to a loved friend, and I really would like them to thrive in my home.
The pics didn't turn out great, especially the ones of the orchid flowers. Let me know if I need to post a better one.
