Yes it was very rich dirt. I was planted between trees in her yard. My yard does not have any shade trees and the dirt was red clay. But it was in the same spot in her yard for over 60 years. She would leave all dead leaves and the stalks until spring then clean it out so new growth could merge. That is why I wanted it so bad. It is very old. I did not make it today but I want to get some bag mulch and put around it and some potting soil to help soften/enrich the current dirt.
