I like your idea but I didn't want to build a fence because I was planning to move in a few years. I found these Garden Commanders that work great for keeping the deer out of my garden. Also, keeps my dogs out as well as any other critter that might want to eat my veggies before they are picked. Has the added advantage of turning into a mini greenhouse in the early spring if I put plastic over them and also can put netting over them to keep birds and small insects away from my young plants.
