No Dave, not at night. My old camera I used to be able to do that but my new one won't focus in the dark, lol. I do all my photos in macro mode and full zoom. That pretty much blurs out most everything in the background anyway. And in full sunlight it makes the backgrounds very dark. It also helps that all the rose beds are backed by deep tree shade.
