This is a Grand Nain banana. Is it possible I didn't bury it deep enough and that's part of the rhizome? I thought bananas were supposed to grow from the center except to propagate, which happens beneath the soil.
The weirdest part about it, is that I definitely buried the entire root system, and this didn't start until I peeled back some dead leaf layers because I thought it would help it grow.
Is there a way I can help encourage new foliage growth instead of whatever it's doing? Haha
