Hi, I purchased a pot of Hoya Sp. Aff. Burtoniae locally (not from a shop) early this year - it was immediately obvious that the plants were NOT doing great (pale, soft leaves, no active growth points).

Upon closer inspection, I found out that the propagations were rooted and planted upside down. I decided to reroot them in water right side up as single node cuttings - this worked very well and when the new roots were about 1-2 inch long, I potted them up in my Hoya soil mix.

This was 3 months ago. All the cuttings have survived the transition to soil and the leaves look and feel great (stiff, fuzzy and dark green) - BUT I see zero stem growth. I'm confident that the plant otherwise has everything going for it, cos it is on my Hoya shelf where 20+ other Hoyas are growing and blooming like crazy.

Is the plant still getting used to growing in soil or are these single node cuttings never going to take off?

Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
