@Cat ... what I did was sort my spreadsheet by height and then bloom time, IIRC. I had 6 beds to fill, so after I had my list sorted, I went down the list and numbered them, like counting off for teams in school.
1..2..3..4..5..6..1..2..3..4..5..6.. that way I got tall plants in each bed, instead of all in one bed.

Does that make sense?

I really don't think I paid any attention to color at all, other than to make sure that I put my deep purples/near blacks in dappled shade. Thumbs up

edit:
I just doublechecked my bed plans.... I planted based solely on height & then bloom time. That provided me a nice mix of colors and shapes without my specifically considering them.
