I would like to root a cutting of my perennial two toned salvia.
I tried in water and that did not work last year.

l.what part and length of the salvia do I cut
2.do I use rooting powder
3.What type of soil in a small pot
4.what type of lighting outside/ under a tree in the shade

I have known many years ago when they used a glass jar
half way tilted over a rooting in the ground..it worked for them
but not for me..perhaps it got too hot in the zone 8 area
with humidity even in the shade where it was placed
over a pot with a cutting inside..

Anyone had success with that method and how did you do it?

thanks Sheri
