Shadows Of Night, Richard Tasco, 2005/2006:
I have experimented taking photos of dark irises in varying light conditions. This picture was taken at 8:21 PM, Saturday, May 23 just prior to sunset. The last rays of the sun were near the horizon on the west (left) of picture. It occurred to me just how important sunlight is in exposing all the different hues in iris blooms. Early morning sunlight seems to have a different effect in sharpening plant details. Is it just me? If so this is still one of the nicest dark irises I've grown! Thumbs up
