I have been gardening all my life and more intensely at this house for 38 years . I was a member of Dave's Garden & the GardenWeb long before joining garden.org. I live close to Lake Michigan, so the microclimate is in zone 6 rather than zone 5. The temperature has not dropped below -8F for many years. Those winter days with -30F have long gone.
