I ordered some daylilies back in June and just went over to pick them up today. The daylilies were already dug and tagged an placed in a box when we arrived. I asked about two more once we got there, 'Special Ovation' and 'Spider Man'. I brought back 'Spider Man' but 'Special Ovation' was just a single fan, so I passed that one up. All the fans are very small (could be the time of year). I failed to look in the box before arriving home, and wished I had because 'American Freedom' had only a tiny bit of greenery left on it the rest had been broken off.The missing pieces were not in the box anywhere, so it had to been that way when it was put in the box. It might very well live and survive and even thrive, but I should have checked before leaving. My wife spotted a strange looking plant as we arrived, it was next to the drive. It was called a Pinecone Lily:Shampoo Ginger (Zingiber zerumbet). Mary was nice enough to give two clumps to Betty. The gift plant was 'Helen Elsie', a beautiful bloom judging by the database photos. It is not very impressive by the stats, but my bonus plant last year 'Filled With Joy' was not very impressive by stats either. It ended up being a wonderful plant and was a great performer last year.
