Today marks two years since my dad passed away. My days still seem a bit off without him and my mom here
I have many bins filled with old home movies, slides, and photographs that I brought home when I was cleaning out their house. Not only do I have decades of my own to sort through, I now have decades of theirs, and also found decades from my maternal grandparents that my mom had brought home after her parents passed away. My goal is to get all of these organized, digitized, and made into focused scrapbooks and video clips. Very emotional for me, both happy and sad at the same time.
This is just a small initial attempt where I digitized a home movie from VHS media. The tape was 4 hours long. I played with video editing software to make a small clip from various segments and stitched them together. Stripped out the background audio and set it to music. The video clip wasn't as long as the song that I chose, and there didn't seem to be a fluid portion of the song to clip out, so I ended up just looping the video clip over and over to fit the length of the song. I have a feel for how the process works now. Anyway, this is a short video clip of my dad dancing with my sister Julie in 1992. He was 55 at the time. I sure do miss you dad
