Bee Heaven
Posted on May 6, 2015 6:19 PM

This summer-like weather is making everything pop. My wisteria was doing nothing a few days ago and last night I saw the blooms hanging like grapes from the branches. I stood underneath it for a few minutes to feel the vibration from all the bees enjoying this treat. If the heat keeps up, the blooms will be gone as quickly as they arrived. But, I'll take it for however long it will be here!!

Those stunning magnolias
Posted on Apr 19, 2015 5:51 AM

Each year I anticipate the glory of my magnolia. Some years we both get cut short by a cold snap after the blooms have started. This year? Well, the magnolia is a magnificent sight in my yard. Yesterday I kept finding work to do on that side of my house, just so I could stop for a few seconds to admire this beautiful tree. It's glory will be fleeting. But, oh so worth the wait. Hope you all find a moment of pleasure looking at this stunning magnolia.

Can it be?
Posted on Apr 3, 2015 7:29 PM

Two weeks ago I travelled to Boston for work. It snowed the night my plane was due to arrive and it was still snowing almost a week later when I flew out of that winter wonderland. In some places the sidewalks were still covered in deep snow. My family said the spring peepers came out that week. I missed them. By mid-week when I returned home my yellow crocus was blooming and I heard them--spring peepers! The real sign of spring to me. The redwing blackbirds have been around for almost three weeks as well. Spring is trying. Winter is being obstinate this year.

But, that sun is warmer every day. I'll take it!

Sunrise, Sunset
Posted on Feb 7, 2015 5:38 PM

I slept in this morning, but was still up in plenty of time to see the sunrise. It was spectacular. The perfect setting for gratitude and prayers. As I tucked my animals in this evening the sunset was just as stunning. I love this time of the year when the sky is clear and crisp. We still have snow on the ground, but that is OK. It is February after all.
