These are my new daffodils which bloomed for the first time....
1. Jackpot 2 Y-O[ Large-Cupped ]
This is an unregistered variety in Australia. It is much nicer than the photos I saw of it in the catalog. Its petals have a slight orange tinge compared to Spellbinder in the background.
2. Nearula 3 W-R[ Small-Cupped ]
I love the intense reddish orange of the corona. It is similiar in colour to Professor Einstein but slightly darker and has a ring of yellow at the base of the petals.
with Professor Einstein
3. Spellbinder 1 Y-WWY[ Trumpet Long-Cupped ]
Spellbinder is a lovely shaped daffodil. The inside of its trumpet fades to pale lemon.
4. Jetfire 6 Y-O[ Cyclamineus ]
Jetfire is a dwarf daffodil. Unfortunately the snails ate it soon after it bloomed.
5. Roulette 2 W-YYO[ Large-Cupped ]
Roulette's corona has a lime tint that I really like. I already have Amor and I was wondering how similar the two would be. Amor is a larger flower and the petals on Roulette are more rounded.

6. Sorbet 11b W-Y/OW[ Split-Cupped Papillon ]
When Sorbet first bloomed I was curious to see how the parts of the corona were arranged to create the striped pattern. I was surprised to discover irregular blotching which was different on each flower.
7. Bo Bo 2 W-OOY[ Large-Cupped ]
Bo Bo is quite unusual because the outer band on its corona is lighter than the interior. I wasn't sure how prominent the yellow band on the trumpet was going to be and I was pleasantly surprised.
8. Blushing Lady 7 Y-YYP[ Jonquilla ]
Blushing Lady is a beautiful mix of pink and peachy lemon. It was my last daffodil to flower.
9. NoID #1
This is a late flowering noid about 35cm tall. I love the way the corona wraps around in a spiral. I wish I had more of it to see if that happens all the time.
10. NoID #2.
I wish this noid looked up a bit more. The corona is a yellowish green which fades to cream with a splotchy reddish orange rim. It bloomed mid season. I checked the vendor's website and couldn't find a name for it.
11. NoID #3
This noid was among my Jackpot daffodils. It is similar but the rim on the corona is gold rather than orange. It bloomed at the same time as Jackpot.

Every year my bloom season ends with Ring Around Rosie, which has nearly finished blooming.
A few days ago I noticed this bud.
Three years ago I purchased Iris Variegata which is commonly known as Hungarian iris. My parents-in-law are Hungarian and I thought it would be a nice tribute to them. This is the first time it has bloomed for me. Being a tiny iris, I expected it to bloom around the time of my sdbs.
The flower is only 24cm (9.5 inches) tall
It has nice branching and purple based foliage which is ribbed.
This blog entry was written late last year (2019) and I just noticed that it wasn't published.
My last new iris to bloom this year is border bearded iris Benedictine [Marky Smith 2015]. I love dark irises with bright coloured beards .
I love the prominent purple based foliage
It was a silly mistake to plant it on top of a dutch iris
Luckily for me it bloomed. The beards have a touch of orange in the throat.
Most of my blooms have finished and only my late bloomers are flowering
Electric Candy [Blyth 2010] looked stunning today
Asian Treasure [Ernst 2007] is another one of my favourites . I didn't notice the spider until I uploaded the photos.
In 2015 I crossed the pale Silver Streak (described in my previous post) with Ibiza.

I purchased Silver Streak in 2015 and received two large healthy rhizomes which were planted directly in the ground in mid March (early autumn). They both bloomed 7 months later but one bloom was taller and didn't look like Silver Steak.
I asked Tempo Two what the other flower is and was advised that there are variations in the flower patterns and that they think both rhizomes are Silver Streak. The pale rhizome did not produce any increases until months after the blooms had finished and I have been waiting 4 years now to see if the blooms would look normal in the future. This year's blooms look pale like the blooms in 2015 and the height of the stem was shorter (about 52cm compared with 62 to 82cm for the normal Silver Streak stems).
I wish I could conclude that the pale bloom will not revert back to looking normal but there is one factor that may have affected this year's bloom. In September this year when the bud was forming in the base of the foliage, the pale Silver Streak foliage was covered in bugs and I sprayed it with soapy water. I noticed that the base of the foliage lost some of its green colour a few days after I sprayed it. This is a recent photo of the foliage which still looks unwell.
I have also moved the rhizome once since 2015 and it's current spot has become quite shady. This may have contributed to the shorter stem.
Does anyone have any thoughts on whether this pale version of Silver Streak is Silver Streak or something else? Could it be a sport of Silver Streak or a seedling of Silver Streak?
Edit: I forgot to mention that this year one of my Silver Streak blooms had splotches like the pale Silver Streak but not as pale.
