Ivy in water
Posted on Jan 27, 2017 11:25 AM

I was rooting some English ivy in a glass and saw a few articles on the internet about growing plants in water.
Seems to be several ways to do this. I took a basic method as this is just a test to see what happens.
I used a old flower vase about 1+ inch of charcoal and about 2+ inch of pebbles to hold plants.
Its under a 2 tube florescent bulb in my basement.

Its Alive !!
Posted on Jan 20, 2017 1:56 PM

The top of the African violet I plant last month after knocking the top off of it is showing some new life.
The cutting I started from the holiday cactus is also showing some roots I started this in some water as suggested by LysmachiaMoon.
I also have one in soil that while not showing any real growth its not dead so will keep a eye on that one.

Propagating some plants 1st attempt
Posted on Dec 21, 2016 5:33 PM

I have been adopting plants but been not too successful the african violets are in bad shape they were fine until I tried to clean up some dead leaves and knocked the top of the plants off. So in a attempt to keep things from getting killed by my black thumb I decide to try to regrow some plants before everything is dead.

From left to right are some
african violet leaves.
holiday cactus leaf segments (not sure which type)
A few chicken and hens that have been growing well outside but wanted to see how they would do inside.
Also have the root of the african violets that got decapitated and a section of the plant top in some soil ( not in photo) too see if if grows.
