(Pearly Everlasti - Pearly Everlasting) Anaphalis margaritacea
Pearly everlasting is under appreciated. It is a North American native and easy-care perennial with lance-shape gray-green foliage that forms an attractive mound from spring to fall.
In 2nd year growth in south back yard garden, full sun, light shade in morning.
Ordered seed in 2019 from Prairie Moon Nursery Winona, MN and Winter Sowed it 2020.
I grew it in full sun in my community garden plot. I have two sturdy plants to overwinter before I plant it in my perennial garden, and I'll see how it does with more space. I did already cut stems for drying, to go with my annual strawflowers.

November 17, 2023: Obtained plant (From group order, Geo Seeds, by Kirk. Note special cultivation hints for dried seed heads. NOT listed in the Speciality Cut Flowers book. It is also called western pearly everlasting or pearly everlasting, an Asian and North American species of flowering perennial plant in the family Asteraceae. So far, I don't see where the plant was growing when I planted it previously. Will try again for the perennial to thrive at Johnson PG in 2024.) January 13, 2024: Seeds sown (Seeds winter sown in jug. Keep an eye out for this one this year, 2024. This was one of four winter sown jugs I did at the Seeds to Community Winter Sowing workshop in 2024.) April 12, 2024: Seeds germinated April 12, 2024: Transplanted (Transplanted extra sprouts from milk jug into seed cells with tomatoes, to grow on.)
