Ranunculus Aziz Mix - Floret Farm suggests pre-sprouting the corms before planting to give plants a jumpstart, and ALSO, for colder climates that cannot plant these in the fall, we can have flowers a few weeks earlier than with non-pre-sprouted ones.

Floret Farm excerpted note and link for the full article:
To presprout, fill a flat-bottom seed tray half full of moist potting soil. I planted the plumped corms (soaked for several hours) into the soil. After they sat in the garage (40-50°F for 10 to 14 days, they sprouted.
The corms swelled to twice their original size and developed little rootlets. I planted them into two pots and put the into a cold frame to grow.

Events
March 17, 2021: Seeds sown (Soaked the corms for several hours, changing the water 3-4 times. Planted in a planter box, keeping in the garage until the feeder roots emerge. Keeping moist.)
April 1, 2021: Seeds germinated (Sprouts showing.)
April 5, 2021: Potted up (Potted up, two pots, placed in larger cold frame.)
March 30, 2023: Obtained plant (Ordered a new batch of corms for 2023 as the 2021 experiment growing ranunculus didn't work. These are classic Ranunculus buttercup bulbs from Willard and May, Minnesota, bought on Amazon)
March 31, 2023: Seeds sown (Put in water with bubbler for 4 hours, planted in soil in trays in greenhouse. Will endeavor to keep tubers (corms) cool, around 45 degrees.)
April 15, 2023: Potted up (Sprouted tubers potted up.

THIS time I've got rooted tubers, (in the cool garage for 2 weeks). We have a couple weeks of cold to grow them on for a bit. Maybe I'll get a few buds, maybe I won't, but it's worth a go!)
