A standard in the garden for those wanting a dependable producer of abundant crops of 10-12 oz. red tomatoes with good flavor. This variety is preferred by those folks who have difficulty with higher-acid tomatoes. Ace is a vigorous med-large determinate tomato plant that was bred for the marketplace so it resists cracking. A good choice for a farmer's market tomato. Resistant to Fusarium Wilt, and Verticillium Wilt.
Donated to USDA in 1965 from Michigan, USA, by the breeder – Asgrow Seed Company (the accession number: PI 645222).
Originally developed decades ago by Campbell's Soup Company, this vigorous and tasty tomato produces bright red fruits up to 6-7 ounces. Fruits have a nice flavor with low acidity. Skin is durable and resists cracking. Also resistant to a few common tomato viruses.
