twf - 2022 A standard in the garden for those wanting a dependable producer of abundant crops of 10-12 oz. red tomatoes with good flavor. This variety is preferred by those folks who have difficulty with higher-acid tomatoes. Ace is a vigorous med-large determinate tomato plant that was bred for the marketplace so it resists cracking. A good choice for a farmer's market tomato. Resistant to Fusarium Wilt, and Verticillium Wilt. Donated to USDA in 1965 from Michigan, USA, by the breeder – Asgrow Seed Company (the accession number: PI 645222). Originally developed decades ago by Campbell's Soup Company, this vigorous and tasty tomato produces bright red fruits up to 6-7 ounces. Fruits have a nice flavor with low acidity. Gurthrie Oklahoma 9-2020 Anne C., Texas 'Berkeley Tie-Dye Green' is a variety developed from the line of 'Berkeley Tye-Dye' bred by Brad Gates of 'Wild Boar Farms', Napa Valley, California, USA. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants loaded with medium-sized (6-8 oz.) beefsteaks. Beautifully colored fruit: green, yellow, and purple striped outside with green, yellow, and red marbling inside. Amazing slicer, outstanding, rich tomato taste, sweet and spicy, with fruity notes. Very good yield, from the middle of the season to the first frosts. About 75 days to maturity. Brad describes BTD as follows: "Berkeley Tie Dye- red gold and green stripes- green flesh with pink blush. Strong flavor, almost salty." Portland OR - 2023 'Black Beauty' tomato is a beautiful creation from Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms. It was introduced as 'World's Darkest Tomato'. Selected from a cross made between 'Pink Berkeley Tie Dye' and 'Indigo Apple'. Impressive, dark, deep blue/black color, meaty and very rich flesh with very high anthocyanin impression on both – fruit and plant. Big (6-10 oz/180-300 g) fruits are round or slightly flattened and ribbed on the shoulders. Very tasty with a delicious, well-balanced tomato flavor. They can hang long on the vines, and can also be stored in room temperature for a few weeks after picking. Indeterminate, regular leaf plant, midseason, first ripe fruit can be harvested about 75 days from transplant. It has a true black color with a nice balance of sweet and tangy flavor. It is one of only a few truly black tomatoes! Fruits can get to one pound and plants are also good producers. A good northern climate tomato variety. Black 6-10 oz. Received in trade from M.K. Piqua Ohio 10-2020 Wishes - L.S. Harts WV - 2023 Brandywine tomatoes have been grown for over 100 years, and are one of the oldest heirloom varieties. The vine is indeterminate, and the fruit resembles the large 'Beefsteak' tomato, although it is famous for its dense and deeply flavored taste. It also boasts "potato leaf" foliage which has a smooth edge instead of the normal serrated edge found on most tomato plants. indeterminate 90 days |
