Bonehead's Plant List: Action

A note from Bonehead

I am located in north Snohomish County, Washington, Zone 8b, a temperate rain foresty region. I rarely get snow, extreme cold, or extreme heat. Global warming, however, is changing the last one and we now get summer temps that are uncomfortably hot for me (anything over 30 C). I use this feature as a mini-database of my plants - both those within my tended beds/yard and those in my wild areas. The dates for plant events (budding, flowering, etc.) are ranges, not necessarily inclusive on both ends.

Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea 'Rubinstern')	Have Action Perennial Medicinal	ACTION: Split and replant between oregano and fireworks, maybe around stainless steel in the front border. 2004 herb border, 2006 medicinal herbs. 2015 struggling, short lived? 2016 added two. Cut off early blooms to side shoots for rebloom, but leave seedheads for the birds. Protects immune system. Sunnyside. Emerges mid Apr Blooms early Aug - early Sep
Dwarf Witch Alder (Fothergilla gardenii 'Blue Mist')	Have Action Shrub Aromatic	This blooms at the same time as the Sam cherry. Sam's blossoms are pure white and these are off-white and end up looking dingy. I think it's a dwarf, so figure out new spot for it. Marla has mowed it over more than once. 2009 kitchen bed. Maidenhair Tree (Ginkgo biloba 'Jade Butterflies')	Have Action Tree Native Medicinal	Relocate this somewhere inside yard, it is a dwarf variety. 2006 front field.
