antsinmypants's Plant List: Collected or purchased 2022

A note from antsinmypants
Feel free to ask about anything in my list you may be interested in. I'm always looking to trade. Just because something isn't in my want list doesn't necessarily mean I don't want it & just because something I have isn't marked for trade doesn't mean it isn't available for trade. I stay busy so don't always get around to updating.

6th Annual NFTSRSS - Ladyreneer - 2021
Purchased fm 2022

Leeks are grown in trenches so that the leaf bases can be covered with soil in order to increase the size of the white portion.

Scottish heirloom leek was introduced in the 1830s near Edinburgh, Scotland with a delicious, sweet, subtle onion flavor.

Very winter-hardy plants with blue-green white stalks 7-10" long and 1 1/2" in diameter.

You can plant leeks as early as two weeks before your last-expected spring frost. Here in New York's Hudson Valley (zone 5-b), I plant leek seedlings between late April and mid-May.

Maturity: 120 days.

SV&GWS - Bingo - 2023

mild yellow variety from Walla Walla, WA.

Juicy, sweet, regional favorite. In the Northwest, which has normal low winter temperatures above -10°F (-23°C), seed is sown in late August, and a crop of very large, flattened, ultra-mild onions is harvested early the next summer. SPRING PLANTING: Walla Walla may be spring planted using seeds or plants in colder regions where winter survival is hit or miss. It is not as big or sweet as the wintered-over crop, but still milder and juicier than others from spring planting. Nice as a "green top" onion. Not for storage. Adaptation: 35–55° latitude.

Long day onion.

EARLY SPRING SEED EXTRAVAGANZA #1 - 2024 - Mimistime - Outsidepride 2023

African native. The original source of an Egyptian confection that evolved into today's marshmallows. The roots and velvety leaves have been eaten as a vegetable for centuries, often fried with onion and garlic. 3-4 foot stems of 1-2 inch, white-to-pink flowers are reminiscent of hollyhocks, to which this plant is related. Also renowned in various folk cultures for its medicinal properties.

Not sure if it returned this spring 2022.
