Basil (Ocimum americanum 'Lime') |
Will Seeds Collected or purchased 2024 Annuals Tender Perennials Edibles Scent Seasoning Tea Herbs Full Sun |
Dad bought from Nursery June 2019. A DND's All Seeds Swap #9 (2022) - lovesblooms - 2022G Tomatoes Galore Swap - critterologist - Wonderful aroma and flavor, definitely "lime" and not "lemon." Seeds were not bagged, but plants (grown from new commercial seed) were pretty well isolated. A zesty and refreshing basil variety with a distinct lime fragrance and flavor. Wildly attractive to pollinators, the fragrant foliage is a delightful addition to the herb garden, containers, beds, and borders. A few sprigs of lime basil tucked into a floral arrangement bring forth a burst of scent. Famous in Thai food and other Southeast Asian dishes. An excellent tea herb, it is also incredible when made into a simple syrup -- so much fun in fusion cuisine, drinks, and desserts! Remove flower buds promptly to prolong harvest. Native to India and Asia. 60 days. |
