antsinmypants's Plant List: Tea

A note from antsinmypants
Feel free to ask about anything in my list you may be interested in. I'm always looking to trade. Just because something isn't in my want list doesn't necessarily mean I don't want it & just because something I have isn't marked for trade doesn't mean it isn't available for trade. I stay busy so don't always get around to updating.

DND's All Seeds Swap #9 (2022) - AudreyDee - Collected in 2022. This is the apricot-colored version.
M.C. SSS Game - 2023

Also known as Klip Dagga, and a member of the mint family, Lion's Ear is native to Southern Africa and is used as a folk medicine among the native peoples for treating numerous ailments, and has shown some promise in studies. Tall, the evergreen tropical plant produces loads of stunning peachy-orange flowers. Caution: this plant is a mild narcotic.

Start seeds indoors in early spring, lightly covering and keeping them very warm. Set out plants after all danger of frost is past. May be direct sown outdoors in long-summer climates. Revels in hot weather.

The most common method of raising horehound is sowing seeds directly into the garden area. Seeds can be direct sowed in spring or fall. If direct sowing in the spring, wait until three weeks before the final predicted frost date. Place the seeds a ½ inch deep in the cultivated ground.

Dad bought from Nursery June 2019. A

DND's All Seeds Swap #9 (2022) - lovesblooms - 2022G

Tomatoes Galore Swap - critterologist - Wonderful aroma and flavor, definitely "lime" and not "lemon." Seeds were not bagged, but plants (grown from new commercial seed) were pretty well isolated.

A zesty and refreshing basil variety with a distinct lime fragrance and flavor. Wildly attractive to pollinators, the fragrant foliage is a delightful addition to the herb garden, containers, beds, and borders. A few sprigs of lime basil tucked into a floral arrangement bring forth a burst of scent. Famous in Thai food and other Southeast Asian dishes. An excellent tea herb, it is also incredible when made into a simple syrup -- so much fun in fusion cuisine, drinks, and desserts!

Remove flower buds promptly to prolong harvest.

Native to India and Asia.

60 days.
