A cross of Big Dwarf and Brandywine

'Big Brandy F1' is a cross of 'Big Dwarf' and 'Brandywine', that produce beautiful, big (about 12 to 15 oz.) beefsteak-type fruits. This is a part of 'Heirloom Marriage™' hybrid series, which is produced from modern day unions of heirloom parents, providing hybrid vigor while maintaining the virtue and integrity of their old-fashioned beginnings. They were bred for improved yield, earlier maturity, and fewer blemishes while maintaining old-time flavor. Distinctive, deeply pleated fruit are juicy, sweet, and balanced with a touch of acid – outstanding tomato flavor.

Grew 2020. Very prolific. Great flavor.

Grew 2020. Very prolific. Great flavor.

'Black Cherry' is a delicious and well-known tomato variety, although its true paternity has not been revealed. The Vince and Linda Sapp family, who own the 'Tomato Growers Supply Company' in Florida, USA, developed it from a natural cross. In 2003, they made it commercially available for the first time. Donated to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)* on September 29th, 2004, by Phillip D. Griffiths of Cornell University. Germplasm Resource Information Network (GRIN)** accession number for this tomato is PI 639207.
The only authentic black cherry tomato grows on enormous, sprawling plants with vigorous vines that are laden with abundant crops of cherries growing in clusters of 10-12 weighing 0.7-0.9oz/20-25g and measuring 1in./2.54cm. The small, spherical fruit has a purple flesh with green jelly around the seeds and is bursting with irresistibly wonderful, sweet, rich, complex flavors and blends beautifully with other colored cherries in a multitude of fresh summertime recipes, making it a Farmer's Market favorite. Fruit will ripen early-to-mid season, 65-70 days after transplant. Good disease resistance.

* The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) conducts plant breeding activities both internally and through publicly funded programs all over the USA.

** Germplasm Resource Information Network (GRIN) documents plant, animal, and microbial collections through informational pages and searchable databases. GRIN is operated by the National Germplasm Resources Laboratory in Beltsville, MD, USA.

'Black From Tula' is a Ukrainian heirloom from Tula. Largest of the black tomatoes with 3-4″, slightly flattened, oblate, dark brown to purple fruit with deep green shoulders. Deliciously outstanding, rich, slightly salty, smoky-fruit flavor.!!

Russian variety imported by SSE from seeds woman Marina Danilenko. First listed in the 1996 SSE Yearbook. Described by one SSE member as "the ugliest, most delicious tomato I've ever grown." Good yields of brownish-red slightly flattened globes weighing up to 14 ounces. Rich full flavor, and great for slicing and canning.

Hands down the best-tasting tomato I've tasted this season 2023.

My most prolific this year (2021) & as always, great flavor.

'Black Krim' tomato is a Ukrainian heirloom variety from the Crimea region of the Black Sea, Crimean Peninsula, Ukraine. First offered in the SSE 1990 Yearbook by Lars Olov Rosenstrom of Bromma, Sweden. This rare and outstanding tomato yields 3-4″ slightly flattened dark-red (mahogany-colored) slightly maroon, beefsteak tomatoes with deep green shoulders. Green gel around seeds. Fantastic, intense, slightly salty taste. Perfect choice for slicing, salads, and cooking. Also suitable for container/patio gardens. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants with good yield.

One of the best flavored black tomatoes, the Black Krim bears 5", roundish fruits that turn almost black when ripe. The fruits are known for their elegant color, which at some times have green or red speckles within the black skin. The flavor is excellent.

'Ananas' (Pineapple) tomato is a big, leafy plant that yields huge, 1-2 lb. (3 to 4-inch) beautiful, pale-yellow beefsteaks with mild red striping and a red blush on the blossom end, very mild acidity. An exceptional, sweet-tasting tomato!

Originated from the state of Kentucky. It got its name because when it is cut in half it looks like the inside of a pineapple! These tomatoes can get to 2+ Lbs easily! It is bi-colored and is great for making sauce and ideal for slicing. Highly productive and produced fruit all the way up to the end of the tomato season!

Entered into largest tomato contest as a backup 2023.

2021 Chicagoland Annual Plant Swap - Pepperlove

A family heirloom of Tom Gallucci of Connecticut. The seeds came from Tom's ex-wife's grandfather, Mr. Prue who was from Massachusetts. Mr. Prue was known to have grown these wonderful tomatoes in the 1930s and 40s. Prue is one of my favorites for taste! The wispy vines with sparse foliage have a droopy appearance but the red elongated heart-shaped 8-16 oz fruit are delicious. They are great for slicing or canning.

Anne C., Texas 2022

Incredible flavor, color and history! Introduced in 1893 by James Thorburn of New York, this is one of the most sensational tomatoes we have ever grown. With honey-brown skin, orange-pink flesh, and green seed mass, this is an eye-catching slicer with an out-of-this-world flavor. The tomato produces heavily during mid-season and then drops off quickly once cool weather sets in. As a cooker it will yield a pumpkin-orange sauce with a floral aroma. We are excited to have this tomato that was painted in color in Thorburn's 1893 catalog; at last we can offer this rare treasure! From the collection of Dr. William Woys Weaver. ~ BC

Tangy classic tomato flavor.

An insanely productive tomato variety that produces clusters of 3-5 tomatoes each weighing 12-16oz. Traditionally grown as a greenhouse tomato, it also has success outdoors. Trellising is required with this variety. Tomatoes are deep red , juicy, small seeded, and blemish free with a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. The perfect slicing variety as it can measure up to 6" across.
