The foliage clumps matured to about 44 inches each in width and the scapes to 20 inches in height, which is about 5" taller than the birdbath. By 2021 they were swallowing up the birdbath in width and height! LOL They were simply too large for this small garden, hiding the garden edge by about 8 inches, and therefore hubby wasn't mowing up to the hidden garden border, so I would remove the lowest leaves to expose the brick garden border. Bees buzzed from flower scape to flower scape, right near my hands, when removing the birdbath bowl to clean and replace it to fill with fresh water, I respected their space, and waited until the coast was mostly clear to carry on, but after two years of putting up with that, I transplanted the three clumps elsewhere with more room for their size, in Spring of 2023. Two went to the back tree garden in the NE corner. They were almost too big to get in the wheelbarrow by myself, but I managed. Probably not the wisest thing to tackle since my back was injured in 2021 and hasn't been the same ever since so it complains when I do even light work, but I "took one for the team"! LOL I should take stock in Ibuprofin! LOLOL I transplanted the third, and largest clump, to behind the garage. I enlisted hubby's help to move that huge clump, and even the two of us had trouble! Fortunately, it traveled only about a 46" to the right!! I guess age really does catch up to us!! LOL I later ordered and planted 4 new dwarf hosta, 'Autumn Fiesta' around the birdbath that can handle being in the sun.

Planted (2) specimens in E Garage Garden.
2018 Split and planted (3) in Old Tree Garden. (Must move. Too much sun.) Planted (1) beside the AC. Thriving! Planted (1) in the orange pot. That one died later.

2023 One full size very large specimen left beside the garage, and one root missed from when dug out to transplant it's clump beside the A/C, and that one has been growing. It is a young plant this year. So, I split large clump and transplanted all three in the back tree garden in the NE corner. I replaced them with two new hosta, 'Color Festival' that is more suited to the space when they are fully mature.

2023 Spring
Ordered on May 5, 2023, received (2) 65mm PLUGS from Gilbert H. Wild and Son on May 18, 2023. According to their website they should have been shipped in 3 1/2" POTS! Not happy. I bought these two plants specifically from this company BECAUSE they were supposed to be in the small pots vs. plugs! We'll see how it goes. I left a VM. No reply.

Paid $10.50 for 14 day delivery from Missouri! No indication of delivery estimate on the website.

I have to get two more, and rest assured, I will buy elsewhere!!

20"-24" width x 10"-12" height

Purchased a 1/2 gal. pot from Lowe's on 6/2/23 to split in two and plant all four around the blue birdbath.
