[ Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum 'African Togo (Undocumented / Suspect)') | Posted on February 13, 2015 ]

This appears to be a fabricated or renamed variety with no credible documentation or history.

What little information that exists on the internet about this entry, all points back to the commerce site of the same person that submitted it to ATP. Additionally, it could not be found in SSE Yearbooks nor at any seed banks. This is usually an indication that someone renamed an actual cultivar, in this case possibly 'Togo Trèfle', or is attempting to fabricate credentials in this database for their own marketing purposes.

If you believe that this assessment is in error or can offer documentary evidence to the contrary, please contact @MikeD.

Additionally, it could not be found in SSE Yearbooks nor at any seed banks. The only other place it was found was on ebay, however, even the images used there did not match the description. [ Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris 'Valena Italian') | Posted on February 1, 2015 ]

"A 1999 Victory Seed Company release. This bean is a family heirloom that helped us start the Victory Seed Company. It was handed down to us years ago by Denise's maternal Grandfather, Emilio Valena of Petaluma, California. He was a first generation Italian-American whose relatives in Cino (Lombardy Region) Italy still grow this variety. Although our family had grown this bean for years, we first shared it with the gardening public in our first annual catalog."
