[ Asiatic Lily (Triploid) (Lilium 'Hannah North') | Posted on January 1, 2012 ]

One of the so called North Ladies bred by Dr. Christopher North. Known as the Mylnefield Lilies, the collection was bred by the late Dr Christopher North at SCRI between 1960 to the1970s. Dr North bred 17 new lilies; one series named after his female relatives, the Ladies and the other after the Greek Gods, Greek Lily Series.

They are some of the most elegant and beautiful asiatic lilies. Definitely worth a place in the garden if you can find them. These lilies are hard to find, but Judith Freeman of the Lily Garden is a grower of them and offers some of these lilies for sale in her catalogs from time to time.

Upfacing orientpet lily that multiplies well and holds up bloom without staking and withstands heat in full sun in hot climates.

[ Lily (Lilium 'Miss Lucy') | Posted on December 28, 2011 ]

Demands acidic soil and excellent drainage to thrive. In hot climates pefers protected, part shade location to preserve blooms, petals will brown and get crisp in hot sun. Short lived lily in my cold climate with hot summer and more alkaline soil.

Prefers acidic soil and excellent drainage to thrive. Plant in dappled shade or east side to preserve bloom and color in hot climates.

LO lily that multiplies well. Always my first to bloom and the scent is like Fruity Pebbles, delicious!

[ Lily (Lilium 'Allegretto') | Posted on December 28, 2011 ]

[ Lily (Lilium 'Luxurious') | Posted on December 28, 2011 ]

Oriental lily bred by Lisa Hunt of Buggy Crazy. Holds up well in cold climate for years, somewhat unusual for an oriental lily. Color and bloom withstand extreme heat and has been a double each year, far superior to other double oriental lilies of the many that I have grown here in Wisconsin. Lisa, thank you for bringing us another amazing lily.

[ Lily (Lilium 'Orania') | Posted on December 28, 2011 ]

Orania is a lovely orienpet lily with yellow base and melon hues that can vary somewhat with heat, humidity and soil pH.

[ Lily (Lilium 'Genteel Lady') | Posted on December 28, 2011 ]

Oriental lily most likely grown by Harve' Strahm or Leslie Woodriff. It was offered by Strahm's, but may have been a selection from Leslie. This information provided to me by Bob Gibson of B & D Lilies. Excellent lily with strong growth and cold tolerance, long lived in my Midwest garden.

[ Lily (Lilium 'Visaversa') | Posted on December 28, 2011 ]

Beautiful! In hot climates this OT lily is best in part shade or east side, where light and heat are not harsh. It will preserve the bloom and protect the color.

[ Lily (Lilium 'Midnight Star') | Posted on December 28, 2011 ]

One of the most amazing LO lilies. Huge flowers and very brilliant color that holds up well in heat and humidity. Very striking color! Does not multiply well, like many LOs do, but very garden worthy.
