This petunia is very easy to start from seed. I've had mine blooming before I even got them transferred out of cell packs. The flower is a very pale yellow, but it works well in many combinations. It's a strong bloomer, but it occasionally got a little leggy.
This has become one of my favorite petunias. I've used it in mixed containers for the last two seasons, and it is a really prolific producer. The bright colors make it a little challenging to mix with other plants, but it's beautiful just on its own too. Continues blooming until hard frost in zone 5.
Grew this petunia for the first time this year, and it was a great success. Stayed neat looking without a lot of deadheading, and bloomed all the way until we got a hard frost. The flowers were so full and ruffled, many of my visitors didn't believe it was actually a petunia!
Does well in my climate with little care. Very heat-tolerant. Bounces back after heavy rains. Needs little dead-heading.
These petunias can grow up to 4 ft. in just a few weeks in good growing conditions. Beautiful planted in the pockets of a large strawberry jar and allowed to cascade down and cover the jar.
Tidal Wave Silver petunia was a 2002 AAS and Fleuroselect Quality Mark winner. Very easy to grow from seed, and it wintersows well. It is a huge spreading plant and vigorous bloomer. If it becomes leggy it can be trimmed by by up to half and it grows back and blooms better than before.
Laura Bush is a reseeding annual. Seeds are available in pink and vibrant purple shades. It is a rugged plant, an "old-fashioned" type of fragrant petunia. It reseeds reliably and heavily. A native of South America, it is very heat tolerant.
If plants begin to grow "leggy," shearing back in mid-summer will freshen the look of the plant and it soon will rebloom heavily.
