Yarrow (Achillea millefolium 'Salmon Beauty') has delicate, but wooly foliage. It performs well in hot afternoon sun, even in the narrow foundation border garden. Here in Zone 6a, Yarrow (Achillea millefolium 'Salmon Beauty') spreads nicely, and blooms prolifically all summer. It seems to attract more flies than bees, lol!

Water thoroughly in drought conditions. Clip off spent blooms and dead leaves that accumulate at the base of the plant to keep things neat and tidy. A "haircut" (cut the top 1/3) in mid season will yield a more prolific second bloom. In late fall, cut it down to about two inches above the ground. Each spring, new little Yarrow sprouts will pop up in random and unexpected places all over the property! It's a delightful perennial with a scent that reminds one of the scent of carrot foliage. Great for ground cover.....spreads quickly!! =D
