Happy New Year to all Plumeria lovers. A rare warm spell at this time of year has new inflos starting already here in Southwest Florida, and it looks like 'Sophie' will be the first bloom of 2019!!
Congratulations on your new and first of the year inflo. The high temp here at my house is 37f out side right now. Out of all my plumeria (15) they are in the greenhouse and have dropped very few leaves. But I am quite sure it will be quite a while before a inflow appears here.
Today's bloom, 'Naples Yellow' or 'Eggyolk' (my name for it). A very large bloom with a big yellow center. Also blooming today are California Sunset and Vera Cruz Rose.
Yes, it smells peachy. It is one of many seedlings of Penang Peach and they tend to have similar scents. Later in the season it will develop a lot more color but for a February bloom, I'll take it!!
Donna S is one of those plumeria that continues to bloom all season long, and often retains an inflorescence through the dormant season, only to revitalize it again in spring. Here it is blooming today:
I have completed my fertilizer application for this year. I use 'Excalibur IX' which is a nine month time release, especially formulated for plumeria. One application and DONE!

Hetty; I still feel the need to vary the type of fertilizers throughout the year. I've use Fish Emulsion, Seaweed Extract & Blossom Booster. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I'm still a Newbie.
Glenn, I used to do that too, but I was introduced to Excalibur and it works so well and is so much simpler. One dose really does it all as far as Plumies go.
