Pretty salvia.

Besides the 3 pics above, there are 39 more pics in the Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea)

There's 2 Multi-plant Landscape Photos and 3 comments on that page also.

A reliable and desirable self-sowing biennial here. The plants are large, so it's helpful to remove seedlings when they're young if they've self-sown too enthusiastically. They thrive in poor soil in the drier areas of the yard. I love the grapefruit scent of the mature flowering stems and foliage. The bees love the showy flowers/bracts.

I had this one and one called Piemont growing next to each other from seed.

Both liked and disliked the grapefruit-like scent for some reason, but not enough not to keep growing.

Beautiful flowers stalks that kept coming if I kept them cut, and once I left them the bracts lasted a while, although I'm not sure I could really tell the difference between the regular and the cultivar.

They both lasted two years for me, and I've been working on getting some more going from seed since last year.

The bees adored it.
