Thread OP

We have a long established Daylily/fruit/veg 5.25 ac farm in the Pacific Northwest. We are getting older and are considering selling. Only 3 ac are in production the balance has some alder and clear land. We'll include everything: Tractor; mower; additional tractor attachments; chickens & coop/yard; everything. Our house is 2500 sq ft that can be 3 br 2 1/2 bath.
Where might you suggest to find a young family to buy and continue the business?

You may try advertising in the AHS journal, some kind of small booklet/magazine the club publishes a few times a year. There are all sort of groups on facebook for gardening/daylilies, you might try advertising there. There are all sorts of magazines for farming, homesteading ect that you could probably take out an ad. First you need to decide what the property is worth, what you will take for it, if you want to use a realtor ect.

Not sure what is meant by "Our house is 2500 sq ft that can be 3 br 2 1/2 bath."?
I might start with the local farmers co-ops if you have them there, and I would check maybe with the local schools ag. departments, often they have personnel who might be interested in something like that.

I would just talk to a few real estate agents and put it up for sale. You can promote it as an extra income property. If the price is right I would just walk away and the new owner can do whatever he or she wishes to do with the property.

I think this is a great idea and would do the same.

Except it's hard to walk away from something that you have taken care of for years. If it was me, I would prefer someone to buy the property who had an interest in continuing the farm as it's set up, if at all possible.
