Can anyone tell me what's happening to my stepmom peace lily? They are facing SW full windows, in Arkansas, they are dull and thin feeling... I thought maybe too much sun but maybe mineral issues? I'm not sure.

How close to the window are they? I'm thinking it might possibly be receiving too much sun. Peace Lilies (Spathiphyllum) prefer dappled shade.

It could be too much light. Try to put a sheer curtain just to make that light exposure more filtered.

I have mine bang in front of a NORTH window and it's thrown up two inflorescences this week. I agree with all the above, move it to a shadier spot. Also, how long has it been without a repot?

Could there been any other reason? The reason I ask is because my step mom said they've been there for over a year and have been fine til about a month ago..
And they were good last time I visited here.

Edit.. so I'm unsure that it's ever been repotted.the container was just put in another pot.. like dropped in not potted in the outside pot. I will try to remember to ask in the morning before I leave.

Peace Lilies require protection from any direct sun falling on their leaves. The yellowing from the sun develops gradually. It is unlikely that there is any other contributing factor. It should not be repotted or have the soil replaced. You might fertilize it at half strength once per month. Keep the soil damp at all times, but don't let it sit in water. The already yellowed leaves will not get green again, but in reduced light, new growth should be a nice dark green.

I have kept my Peace Lily in same container, to be honest I am too lazy to bother it. So soil level has gone low, but the plant is still doing well, actually quite active leaf growth. Mine is in the bathroom, our windows are large but it has glass filters, so no direct light at all. I don't even give this one any fertilizers. Just watering it as needed, then removing the old dead leaves as it goes.

So I would suggest, do not repot, let it continue in that container, but definitely reposition is a more filtered light area.
