Wow ... that's really a Beauty!! It looks a lot like my Medinilla cummingii: Chandelier Tree (Medinilla cumingii)

I bought my plant in 2008 (at Wal-Mart!) and I wish that I'd bought more than just one because I haven't seen it for sale around here since!

I couldn't find a listing or any information anywhere for Medinilla fruticosa. The latin translation of the word fruticosa is "shrubby" or "bushy" and I wonder if your plant is actually M. cummingii?

There are a few Medinilla's listings in the database, but no fruticosa :

You are probably right Lin, I have look and couldn't find any info on m. fruiticosa.

Whatever it is for that price I would buy it in a heartbeat. She is loaded with flowers so i' m enjoying her.

Cora...I am sure it is M. cummingii. If the pink flowers turn to dark purple balls...those would be seed pods. We have lots of moss growing on trees/rocks etc. (you could use wet spagnum)...and I take the 'pods' and smear them on the moss. In a while there are seedlings. Keep it outside, in the shade tho'......
