🍀🌱🌴🍃🐚💐🌺🌸🌼🌹🥀🌼🌻 Hurray! Thumb of 2019-04-06/pitimpinai/1ae8c7 Hurray! 🌸🍅🍆🥑🥦🥬🥒🌶🌽🥕🥔🍠

Hurray! 🥑🥦Newbies and seasoned gardeners welcome! And please spread the words 🌶🌽 Hurray!

For people who have been to the swap, please note the change of date and time.
For newbies - we are borrowing the Evanston Unitarian Church parking lot for the event.
Bring what you have to share; take whatever you want to grow.
Separate tables for annuals, perennials, sun, shade, veggies, garden items/books , snacks and refreshment are provided.
Do not worry if you have nothing to share, bring a plate of cookies or a bag of snacks, if you wish...
Please note that this is not a one for one swap, but a community sharing event. No money is involved.

If you ask for plants but can not make it to the swap, please let someone know so we will move what was brought for you to the general area or we can work out something with you.

Ever since Ellen spearheded this event ~19 years ago, it has brought friends, neighbors and strangers together to share their joy and passion in gardening. We would like to continue to spread the joy again and again.

Yay! So happy for the spring!
We have changed date and will see if it is better for majority of folks. Remark your calendars and give us feedback please.
Please share our message on your media, invite friends and neighbors. This event is only successful as people participating.
For those who are new, we usually have a number of heirloom tomatoes and other veggies to share.
I should have decent amount of foxglove, butterfly bush from seed, heuchera from seed, verbena bonariensis from seed, some hostas. I usually have small spring ephemeral bulbs. Will update as we go.

Hello!
Can't wait for the swap and always so grateful for all the goodies. I would love some variegated solomon seal pitimpinai! Last summer it was growing nicely but then may neighbor cut down a big tree and smashed a lot of it! Hoping it will come back and would love to add to it. Thank you! Will update as I see what is coming up in my garden.

Hello fellow gardeners.

It's that time of the year again! Hurray!
Thanks for Ellen for organizing this wonderful event.
Thanks to Mone for the flyers and online swap initiative.

None of my plants have come up since few days back the maintenance dumped a bunch of mulch when all the shoots were coming up. Hope they make it through! I will know what I have in excess to share in a couple of weeks.

Mone I would love Naked Lady Lily/Surprise Lily. I googled it and it looked so pretty!

Mone, pink color is my favorite.

May I know what would you do with laundry detergent bottles? Just curious. If I find empty at that time I would bring one for you. Smiling I saw youtube video where they have created duck planter for garden. I tried but the plastic is very hard to cut so gave up.

Jasmine, they make the best garden scoops and most handy in the garden. Since I no longer buy laundry detergent, I would like a few empty large containers like the one in this photo:

Thank you.

I'll go "shopping" soon!

I like how you're updating your post on this page with what you're offering, and tracking "signups." I will do that too!

Hi All,

Sorry I've been missing the last couple of years. Last year I was in Paris for a friend's birthday (also my first trip to Europe). I'm super behind this year and started nothing from seed. I'm a bit bummed about this but I'll just have to support some local garden centers.

Mone - May I please have some of the Triloba, Monkshood, and Solidago? Also, are you out of Naked Lady Lily?

Elen, - May I please have some heuchera, verbena, and I'll be interested to see what hostas you offer.

I may have some Obedient Plant to offer, when it comes up. I may also have some irises to contribute. It's a large clump.

Very excited to you all.

Hi, I am very excited for my first time at this event!
I have been looking for something called Rue Anemone for a long time. . . not sure if it is best to start by seed or division or what?
If anyone has some, I would just love it!

Thanks!

Mone -
Saw your post about the plastic bottles...I will save some for you instead of throwing them into the recycle bin.

Annette -
Have you tried using a box cutter on the plastic bottles?

Mickey
