Name: Kermit Carter Elk, California (Zone 9a) Offering 400+ Salvias and counting
It is in no way an "Amisted clone". A very different plant habit. Larger flowers, glossy green leaves. With modern plant breeding techniques, we'll continue to see better and better - which is good.
Here is a link to a video with a short, shaky shot of both 'Roman Red' and 'Purple & Bloom' around the 3 minute mark. Pretty! Cute involucres, too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
I'm impressed with salvia 'purple & bloom' so far. It is loaded with beautiful bloom spikes and it has a nice, bushy form. The hummers are working it over every evening, too.
