I can't find my tag for this plant. I finally got it planted in the garden and from what I can remember it has black stem or something along those line in its name (and it does have a blackish stems). I recall that it grows to about 5 feet and the plant has a very medicinal smell to it. I have no idea what the flowers would look like because it never bloomed. Any help would be very much appreciated I am Charleston SC - thanks
Smiling

It looks like a Salvia.
One possibility is Forsythia Sage (Salvia madrensis 'Red Neck Girl')
It is a short-day/long-night bloomer so early frosts can take it out before blooming. See if these stems look familiar.

It would be hard to say for sure based on that one photo, though, since there are nearly a thousand species of Salvia! Green Grin!
