Folks,
Please see attached pic for palms that clump but are limited in size. ie: They look like Mexican Fan Palms but are more dwarf like in size and have a nice clump effect.
My problem: I have on two occasions now lost my Pygmy Dates to frost. Even with fleece protection I lost one of my last two replacements after a 20F night in Houston. These in the pic look like an ideal replacement in that they look great and are almost certainly more hardy than the Pygmy date as they are in an exposed location at Houston airport, but what variety are they?
heres a better pic

Thanks

My first thought looking at the photos is Chamaerops humilis (aka European Fan Palm). Should do fine in a Houston Winter.

I agree, they look like they might possibly be European Fan Palm (Chamaerops humilis)

Moving this to the Plant Identification Forum where it will get more views.

Thanks you folks!

$20 each from Houston Garden Center.
I've moved my remaining Pygmy Date to the back of the house it faces East but gets a lot of Houston morning sun, so hopefully against the house wall and with fleece in the winter it should be ok.
