Hi guys,

I live in the Heights area of Houston,Texas and have noticed that except for a couple of plants, my day lillies have not bloomed at all this year. do ya have any advice on the possible reasons for this? I welcome any suggestions or comments as I am at a loss.

Do you know the names of the varieties that bloomed and the varieties that have not bloomed.
Have most of them bloomed by this time in the past?
Any photos?

Could be that they need dividing. Or maybe they have settled too deep in the soil. Photos would help.

I always seem to tie other peoples problems to mine, but could the roots from that tree and those shrubs be causing the problem. If not maybe it is just the weather changes that have happened causing no blooms.

Funny, I am starting to think it is weather pattern changes (climate change) as my fruit tree production have also declined. Oh well, I am going to wait this year out and see what happens, maybe plant new flowers in front and move these to the backyard.

I don't think it is due to climate change, just weather change.

You asked the same question last year and after a couple of suggestions and requests for additional photos, you never replied. You divided them last year but didn't say how deep you planted them when.

Your photos don't enlarge enough to really see them, they actually shrink smaller.
In addition to the ideas posted in the other thread, I think they are also in too much shade.

Oops, my memory is not what it used to be, I had forgotten about last years post, apologies.

I will again divide them this year and plant them in back.

As well as too much shade I wonder if they're getting enough water. They're right next to paving which is going to increase heat stress also.
