What exactly, is "documentation", when uploading photos into the Database ? Does that mean a photo of an actual"document", such as an "invoice'"for a plant, or shows a "label", completely ?
Or perhaps an "artistic style" photo of some seed packets ( instead of an obviously, single , duplicate, intended to be an identical exact copy, of which may possibly violate copyright, without permission..) , as a sort of "document"?
I'm just not quite sure what it's purpose is, or what application it is used for, to supply some sort of photo, 'checked off' as "documentation".
Would someone be so kind, as to explain, as I just haven't seemed to " come across", it's use, by chance.
Any example of it, being used, or an explanation, would be appreciated.. Thanks, ! Shawn

Maybe it would be most helpful to take a look at some examples:

https://garden.org/apps/plant_...

This gallery is typically used for printed illustrations, tags in bot gardens, and so forth. It should not be used to violate any copyright, where relevant.

Thank you Baja, for showing me, with the link, as it just wasn't so readily "apparent" to me, as to just what it mean, by "documentation." I see now, that it could be used for not only old , out of print "Botanical" print, illustrations, but of illustrations, used from books, that the copyright has also, "expired."
I certainly appreciate your help, with answering that, question. Shawn

I've always wondered what that was too - thanks for the illustrated response @baja_costero. I'm dying to know how you were able to pull up that gallery of photos by category.

I went to "Plants Database" (second tab at very top of page) then "See more new plant database photos" (below the images at the left of the page) then selected the appropriate gallery. Here's a direct link to the page where you can view new photos in any gallery you like:

That's pretty cool. If only a person could use that tool on specific plants...

It works for some genera. For example you can look at flower pictures for Aloes on this page:

And documentation is not meant for actual nursery plant tags. Those kind of images are not really useful to the database. Even botanical garden tags with just a name. The ones that would be useful would be ones with extra verbiage that may add additional info like country of origin, or something that wouldn't normally be something added to the plant details.
