I can't remember what this was called when I bought it and it's doubtful it had a latin name on it anyway. It looks like an aroid, that's about all I know. It has been in a back bed for about 4 years but recently I removed the heliconias that were shading it and it got sunburned as summer started and the walls of the garden no longer shaded it. I moved it to another spot that I think will give it more dappled light in summer and more light in winter. Either it thinks it is dying or it is really happy because suddenly I noticed it has bloomed for the first time. Can anyone help me identify it?
Name: LariAnn Garner south Florida, USA When in doubt, do the cross!
Your plant is one of the "birdsnest" type of Anthuriums but they hybridize so readily in nature and in cultivation that to determine if yours is an actual species or a hybrid is very problematical.
Well, that is way more than I knew about it before so I thank you very much. I don't need to know more. I thought the bloom was odd looking, it seems like it is missing a piece.
